A few weeks ago, I had a chance to visit Lonnie, the congregational care pastor at Parkview Christian Church in Tinley Park, Illinois. We chatted about my book, and as it turns out, Lonnie is looking into the possibility of sharing Discover Your Next Best Step: 10 Principles of Servant LeaderShip Wisdom with the small groups in his church.

Naturally, I’ve had similar conversations with pastors at other churches, but my meeting with Lonnie was special. As it turns out, he serves the church my mom attended for many years. The visit was a homecoming of sorts, but it also served as a reminder that God places many wonderful people in each of our lives. What a gift it is when we’re able to make meaningful connections with other people of faith!
